Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on May 18, 2021. Last updated May 17, 2021

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of May 18, 2021  

•         766,895 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 4,781
•         51.8% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
•         64.1% of the population ages 18+ has received at least one dose  
•         631,292 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 7,146
•         42.6% percent of the total population of 1,481,093 have completed their vaccine series

•         417,070 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 5/10-5/16.
•         Walk-in vaccination clinics are offering vaccine to residents who are age 12+. No appointment is needed. Medical practitioners and EMS are on-site at all times to answer questions and tend to concerns. Click here for locations and times. •         If you are confined to your home and wish to receive your COVID-19 vaccination, call 311. We will take your name and you will be called to schedule your free vaccination at home.

• 7,895 COVID-19 tests were administered
• 4,025,206 total tests have been administered since March 2020
• 68 new cases were reported
• 199,660 total cases have been reported since March 2020
• 5.0% of those tested since March 2021 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
• 0.9% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 1.0% positive on a 7-day average
• 0.8% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 0.9% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

• 54,255 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
• 373,452 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

•          0 fatalities

• 3,381 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data is from May 17, 2021

• 133 individuals were hospitalized, an  increase of 9 in 24 hours
• 11 were new admissions

• 30 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), no change in 24 hours
• 17 patients were in the ICU and intubated
• 6 were discharged since the last report
• 14,421 have been discharged since March 22,2020

• 3,146 hospital beds, 1007 available, 32%
• 435 ICU beds, 120 available, 28%
