Covid-19 Case Update February 25, 2021 4:00pm

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on February 25, 2021. Last updated February 24, 2020.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information -  As of February 25 in Suffolk County

COVID-19 Viral Testing: On February 24:

  • 18,489  COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 2,863,598  total tests have been administered since March
  • 721  new cases were reported
  • 160,292  total cases have been reported since March
  • 5.6% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 3.9% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 4.1% positive on a 7-day average
  • 4.0% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 4.2% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 39,572  individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 340,721   total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 5  fatalities
  • 3,054  total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from February 24, 2021

  • 461 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 15  in 24 hours
  • 51  were new admissions
  • 108  patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increase of 1  in 24 hours
  • 68 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 53 were discharged since the last report
  • 11,642  discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,190 hospital beds, 785  available, 25%
  • 441  ICU beds, 98   available, 22%
