Program is for SUFFOLK COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY.
Hunters must possess and carry afield the following:
- Valid New York State Hunting License
- Valid New York State Turkey Permit
- Valid Suffolk County Parks Green Key Card
- Valid Suffolk County Parks Spring Turkey Hunting Permit

- Spring Turkey Hunting Permit - Resident/Sr./Handicap/Volunteer/Aux. Pol./Veteran $10.00

ADVANCE RESERVATIONS REQUIRED:
Access to turkey hunting areas is by RESERVATION ONLY. In order to make a reservation the hunter must be a Suffolk County resident, 18 years of age or older, and possess a valid Green Key Card.
Hunters must submit an Online Application to request a reservation. Applications submitted by Sunday April 14th will be chosen at random and assigned one (1) reservation according to the applicant’s preferences. The applicant will receive an email with instructions on how to confirm their reservation and will be required to purchase their Spring Turkey Hunting Permit at that time. If none of the applicant’s preferred hunting areas or dates are available, no reservation will be made.
Beginning Monday April 22nd, applicants may call the Administration Office to make additional reservations. Hunters are permitted one (1) additional reservation per week of the hunting season (Sunday – Saturday).
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
All NYSDEC Regulations Apply. In addition, Suffolk County Parks hunters must comply with the following:
- Hunting with handguns is prohibited.
- Hunters under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult with a valid New York State Hunting License.
- Hunters must make an advanced reservation and park in the numbered parking area assigned to them.
- A maximum of 2 hunters are allowed per parking area. Both hunters must possess a valid Suffolk County Parks Spring Turkey Hunting Permit.
- Hunting permits must be displayed on the vehicle dashboard and be fully visible.
- No overnight parking.
- SHARE THE WOODS: Hikers are permitted in these areas throughout the turkey season.
- Respect private property postings. When hunting unfamiliar areas, check with local park personnel for boundaries of parkland.
- Failure to comply with any of the above may result in the forfeiture of all hunting privileges.
