Directions: Sunrise Highway (Route 27) to Exit 49, Lakeland Avenue South. Follow Lakeland Avenue to Montauk Highway (Route 27A). Turn right onto Montauk Highway, go through Sayville and West Sayville. Take 2nd left past the West Sayville Fire Department onto West Avenue. Follow to the museum entrance on right towards the end.

Featuring exhibits that explore the history of the Great South Bay and the baymen that harvested its waters, the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville welcomes school groups, clubs and individuals for tours and workshops. The historic Leonard P. Beebe House, furnished in the style of the turn-of-the-century South Shore baymen, provides insight into the lives of these hardworking individuals. The National Landmark William Rudolph Oyster House exhibit includes antique oyster-harvesting equipment and historic photos of the South Shore baymen and their trade. Special events are held at the museum throughout the year.

The Museum is open Monday - Saturday from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, and Sunday from 12:00 - 4:00 pm.

The Museum is located on the grounds of the West Sayville Country Club.
