Under the auspices of the Suffolk County Executive's Office of Women's Services The Women Veterans Sub-Committee gathered to address needs and concerns that impact the women veterans in Suffolk County. After identifying gaps in services and challenges this community faces; we researched the areas identified to determine solutions that could be addressed. The specific challenges were a combination of information we received from calls for assistance to the Office of Women’s Services, as well as direct issues that impact the veteran community via local veteran service agencies. The three (3) areas we focused upon are: Transportation, Housing, and Resource Awareness.
