(Ridge, N.Y.) – The following information regarding the brush fire in the Ridge-Manorville area has been updated as of 10:45:
The following roads have been closed in the area:
Connecticut Avenue from River Road to Mill Road;
Mill Road from Conneticut Avenue to Wading River Manor Road;
Wadding River Manor Road from North Street to River Road;
Halsley Manor Road;
Mill Rd Road North Road.
Suffolk County Executive Steven Bellone issued the following statement:
“This is the worst fire Suffolk County has seen since the Pine Barrens fires of 1995. I want to thank our volunteer firefighters and our entire first responder community from both Suffolk County and Nassau County for everything they are doing.
“Our firefighters are working throughout the night to contain this fire. We will provide further updates in the morning.”
