The Suffolk
County Department of Health Services’ Division of Community Mental Hygiene (CMH)
is the local governmental unit responsible for the coordination and oversight
of all community services to persons with alcohol and substance use disorders,
mental illness, and/or developmental disabilities. CMH collaborates with communities
to pursue program development, evaluates services to ensure compliance with
state regulations, and provides education and training to increase awareness of
mental hygiene concerns in the community.
