AGENDA
- There will be an overview of general activity of the Patient
Advocate Unit.
- There will be a presentation by Ms. Yvette Boisnier, LMSW, SBU
School of Social Work, and Director of Family Service League (FSL)
Ombudsman Program of Suffolk County. The FSL, founded in 1926, is
committed to providing a wide safety net of programs to empower
individuals and strengthen families, and provides a number of vital
programs that provide advocacy for aging seniors.
The
Long Term Care Ombudsman Program protects the rights and improves the quality
of life for long- term care
residents in nursing and adult homes and assisted living facilities. Their work
focuses on reforming long- term care policies and investigating resident’s
complaints. Everyone in Suffolk County
is eligible for these services if needed. Please join us as Ms. Boisnier
informs and guides the committee on how to best utilize these services for
Suffolk County residents and their families. The Ombudsman is a member of the
healthcare team working to optimize the Long Term Care experience.

Oversight Committee was created in 2013 by the Suffolk County Legislature to
assist vulnerable residents with accessing needed health care services.
