Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone today released the following statement in response to a report by the Congressional Budget Office that showed the federal shutdown cost the U.S. economy $11 billion.
“The federal government shutdown was both foolish and costly to Long Island taxpayers. Washington needs to get its act together before its dysfunction hurts our regional economy any further.”
