The Peconic Estuary Program’s Citizen Advisory Committee will be holding our meeting at The Hallock State Park Preserve. The meeting will feature a workshop on the Suffolk County Septic Improvement Program. Suffolk County Representatives will be on hand to answer questions about the application process and everything you need to know about how to upgrade your cesspool or septic system through the program.
The Peconic Estuary is part of the National Estuary Program (NEP), which aims to protect and preserve nationally significant estuaries that are threatened by pollution, development, or overuse. The Peconic Estuary was named an “estuary of national significance” in 1992.
