- Overview of general activity of the Patient Advocate Unit.
- There will be a presentation by Stephanie Silva, MA, CBIS, Director of Community Based Services at the Head Injury Association. Stephanie will be speaking about the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and the Nursing Home Transition and Diversion (NHTD) Waiver Programs. These programs, for individuals with disabilities, are designed to increase independence, community inclusion, and self-reliance. Additionally, Roberta Rosenberg, creator of the website, “Destination: Accessible” will speak about the challenges of mobility issues and finding navigable destination venues. The goal of “Destination: Accessible” is “to provide information to anyone with mobility challenge needs to make an informed decision as to whether or not a destination is appropriated for him/her and what to expect when you get there”
