Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 through 4:30 p.m. on May 9, 2020:
Testing
- 111,339 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 2,227 tests since May 8
- 33.7 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
- 40,293 antibody tests have been administered
Cases
- 37,140 persons tested positive for COVID-19; an additional 467 cases since May 8
- 4,213 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for COVID-19 antibodies; 413 additional cases since May 8.
- 41,353 total positive COVID-19 cases and antibody cases, up 870 from May 8.

Hospitalization, as of May 8
- 703 patients were hospitalized, a decrease of 16 overall from May 7
--47 new patients were admitted to area hospitals on May 7
--65 patients were discharged from the hospital on May 7
- 258 hospitalized patients were in the intensive care unit (ICU), a decrease of 43 patients from May 7
Fatalities
- 1,597 individuals have died**
- 29 deaths were reported May 8
Hospital Beds
- 2965 hospital beds
- 619 ICU beds

**This increase in fatalities this week reflects data reported on May 6 by New York State in addition to confirmed fatalities within nursing homes and adult-care facilities that were identified as part of the reconciliation process.
