Hauppauge, NY – (August 3, 2016) – Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone and the Suffolk County Department of Labor, Licensing and Consumer Affairs jointly announced today the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center will host a Career Quest program titled “Starting Your Own Business.” The event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 17th, at 9:30 a.m. The program is designed to help residents explore the process of becoming business owners and achieving economic independence.
“Suffolk County is rich in diversity, and the opportunity to help our residents unlock their creativity as business owners will further contribute to the economic growth of the county,” said Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone. “Our partnership with the One-Stop Employment Center continues to be a tremendous resource for our residents who are seeking new jobs, career changes, or opportunities for improved economic freedom.”
The “Start Your Own Business” seminar will be facilitated by a representative from the New York State Small Business Development Center. Participants are expected to learn about the necessary steps needed to start a small business, as well other useful tools for successfully operating a small business.
The Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center in Hauppauge is located at 725 Veterans Memorial Highway, Hauppauge, NY 11788. All interested participants must pre-register by speaking to any of the counselors at One-Stop Employment, or by calling 631-853-6600 to reserve a spot.
