COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - February 17, 2021, 5:00 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on February 17, 2021. Last updated February 16, 2020.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information -  As of February 17 on Long Island:

COVID-19 Viral Testing: On February 16:

  • 12,965  COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 2,749,696  total tests have been administered since March
  • 590 new cases were reported
  • 155,739 total cases have been reported since March
  • 5.7% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 4.6% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 4.5% positive on a 7-day average
  • 4.5% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 4.5% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody TestingSuffolk County

  • 38,207 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 335,818 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 11 fatalities
  • 2,988 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from February 16, 2021

  • 547 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 1 in 24 hours
  • 52 were new admissions
  • 106  patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 5 in 24 hours
  • 72 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 40  were discharged since the last report
  • 11,290 discharged since March 22

  • 3,215  hospital beds, 812 available, 25%
  • 441 ICU beds, 88 available, 20%
