PRESS RELEASE: SUFFOLK COUNTY EXECUTIVE BELLONE ANNOUNCES THREE JOB FAIRS
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone today announced three upcoming job fairs have been scheduled this month, including a hiring event that will take place today, Tuesday, July 10, from 9am to 12pm at the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center in Hauppauge. No registration is necessary for each of these events.
“While unemployment in Suffolk County remains historically low, many local residents are still looking for work, or for advancement in the workplace,” said Suffolk County Executive Bellone. "These events can be great resources for workers in the region to learn about job opportunities and meet potential employers."
The hiring event today will feature Retail Grocery Inventory Specialist, a company that is recruiting for 30 Part-Time Retail Inventory Associates starting at $12.25 per hour. RGIS provides inventory services to a variety of businesses, and Inventory Associates can earn an additional $0.50 per hour after 5 inventory events and up to $16.25 per hour based on speed and accuracy. The company also offers on-the-job paid training, a pay for performance hourly wage structure, and promotional opportunities.
The second event, on Thursday, July 12 from 9:00am to 12:00pm, will also take place at the Hauppauge One-Stop Employment Center, where United Parcel Service is recruiting for Full-time Drivers, Part-time Loaders, Unloaders, and Sorters, with pay ranging from $11.00 per hour for part time entry level jobs to $18.75 per hour for drivers. UPS offers Medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription benefits, paid holidays, tuition assistance, and promotion from within the organization.
The third event will take place on Tuesday, July 31, from 10am to 1pm at the Employment Center with a Job Fair at the Comsewogue Public Library, 170 Terryville Road, Port Jefferson Station.
Companies scheduled to participate include ADD, Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Attentive Care, Burlington Stores, Developmental Disabilities, DiCarlo Food Service, East End Disabilities, East/West Industries, Express Employment Pros, Frank Lowe Rubber & Gasket, FREE, Hampton Inn Brookhaven, Home Depot, Home Instead, Jefferson’s Ferry, New Vitality, NYC Dept. of Corrections, NY Life Insurance, NYS Civil Service, NY State Troopers, SCOPE, Spellman High Voltage, Suffolk AHRC, Suffolk County Civil Service, Suffolk Transportation Services, TJ Maxx, TRI/American Maintenance, UPS, and US Postal Service.
Job candidates in need of proper attire for an interview should contact Career Couture at (631) 853-6769. Career Couture is a boutique at the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center that offers individuals proper business attire for upcoming interviews without a charge.
