Covid-19 Case Update April 5, 2021 9:30pm

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on April 5, 2021. Last updated April 4, 2021.

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of April 5, 2021 

  •        493,241 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 4,479
  •        33.3% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  •        281,254 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 2,686
  •        19.0 percent of the total population of 1,481,093 has completed their vaccine series
  •        Demographics can be found on the NYSDOH vaccine tracker
  •        819,800 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 3/29-4/4

COVID-19 Viral Testing- On April 4, 2021(as updated on NYSDOH website at 11 p.m. on 4-5-21)

  • 11,901 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,459,388 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 566 new cases were reported
  • 185,911 total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.4% of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 4.8% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 4.5% positive on a 7-day average
  • 4.5% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 4.4% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 46,214 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 359,976 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County as of 4/4 (as updated on NYSDOH website at 11 p.m. on 4-5-21)

  • 5 fatalities
  • 3,275 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data from April 4, 2021

  • 344 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 1 in 24 hours
  • 42 were new admissions
  • 83 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an  increase of 5 in 24 hours
  • 47 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 39 were discharged since the last report
  • 13,311 have been discharged since March 22,2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,124 hospital beds, 966 available, 31%
  • 435 ICU beds, 121 available, 28%
