Covid-19 Case Update January 12, 2022

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on January 12, 2022. Last updated January 11,  2022

COVID-19 Vaccine Information, for January 11

·        1,176,064 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 1,723

·        1,057,359 people is fully vaccinated, an increase of 1,228

·        79.4% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose.

·        92.1% of the population ages 18 and older has received at least one dose.

·        71.3% percent of the total population is fully vaccinated.

·        83.9% of the population ages 18 and older is fully vaccinated.

·        76.1% of the population ages 5 and older is fully vaccinated.

  •         35.5% of fully vaccinated population have had a booster dose

·        Walk-in vaccination clinics are offering COVID vaccines to Suffolk County residents who are age 5 and older as well as booster doses to all who are eligible. Appointments are recommended. Medical practitioners and EMS are on-site at all times to answer questions and tend to concerns. Click here for locations and times and parental consent forms.   • 6,644,220  total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 3,942 new cases were reported
  • 266.2 cases per 100k; 362.2 on a 7-day average
  • 383,816 total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 20.7% tested positive in Suffolk County; 26.1% positive on a 7-day average
  • 20.1% tested positive on Long Island; 24.3% positive on a 7-day average

Fatalities, Suffolk County, January 11, 2022

  • 17 fatalities:
  • 3,962 fatalities since March 2020

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, January 11, 2022

  • 1041 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 3 in 24 hours
  • 171 were new admissions
  • 132 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increase of 1 in 24 hours
  • 65 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 144 were discharged since the last report
  • 20,049 have been discharged since March 22, 2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,101 hospital beds, 667 available, 22%
  • 388 ICU beds, 77 available, 27%
