Covid19 Case Update July 31, 2020 4:30pm

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on July 31, 2020. Last updated July 30, 2020

Total Persons Tested

  • 473,746 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 5,371 tests        
  • 9.1 percent of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 0.9 percent of those tested on Long Island in the last reported 24-hour period tested positive for COVID-19
  • 1.0 percent of those tested in Suffolk County in the last reported 24-hour period tested positive for COVID-19

Tested Positive for COVID-19

  • 43,224 total cases
  • 54 new cases

Antibody Testing

  • 219,641 total tested for antibodies
  • 23,426 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies

Fatalities

  • 1 fatalities
  • 1,997 total fatalities

Hospitalization, numbers from July 30, updated July 31 at 4:30 p.m.

  • 34 individuals were hospitalized, decrease of 8 in the past 24 hours
  • 11 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 3
  • 3 new admissions
  • 4 discharged
  • 5,614 discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity

  • 3030 hospital beds, 842 available, 28 percent
  • 394 ICU beds, 146 available, 37 percent

COVID-19 Travel Advisory

Beginning on June 25, persons traveling to New York, New Jersey or Connecticut from any state that has an infection rate above 10 per 100,000 on the seven-day rolling average or 10 percent of the total population positive on a seven-day rolling average are required to quarantine for 14-days. As of today, the states that are above that level include:
