The Suffolk County Department of Public Works’ Division of Vector Control plans to treat parts of the following salt marshes by helicopter to control mosquito larvae.  Should weather conditions prevent completion of the work, it will be continued the next suitable day. 

The Vector Control Pesticide Management Committee is composed of various county and non-county members who are charged with reviewing emerging literature on potential impacts of vector control pesticides and evaluating pesticide reduction alternatives in regard to vector control activities. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has confirmed the presence of a cyanobacteria bloom in Wickapogue Pond in Southampton.  

The purpose of the advisory board is to advise the Commissioner of Health Services on matters relating to the operation of the health center.  The meeting is open to the public.  Guests are asked to call in advance.
