Advisory Issued Against Bathing at 47 Suffolk County Beaches Due to Heavy Rainfall

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services has issued an advisory against bathing at 47 beaches due to the heavy rainfall that occurred Tuesday evening, July 23, 2013. The advisory is based on the potential that bacterial numbers in excess of New York State standards, resulting from the heavy rain, will impact these areas.

Copiague Harbor Closed to Bathing

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services today closed Copiague Harbor Beach in Copiague to bathing due to the finding of bacterial levels in excess of acceptible criteria.
