Timmy Kelsch, an 11 year old from Holbrook, was inspired to champion a gift drive when he saw a social media post about youth spending the holidays in foster care. Timmy put his inspiration into motion by creating a flyer asking for donations, which he circulated in the 600 home Holbrook housing development in which he and his family reside. With the assistance of his mother, Jennifer Kelsch, Timmy collected approximately 500 toys and $600 in gift cards which were presented to the Suffolk County Department of Social Services on December 11, 2020 for distribution among the foster children in their care. Timmy’s caring efforts will brighten the holidays for Suffolk’s foster children.
