MBA, Commissioner of the Suffolk
County Department of Health Services, says today that that the beach closures
issued for the following beaches have been lifted, as results of recent samples
collected show the water quality to be within acceptable levels:
- Tanner
Park Beach in Copiague
- Benjamin
Beach in Bayshore
- Centerport
Yacht Club Beach in Centerport
Note: Immersion in
bacteria-contaminated water can result in gastrointestinal illness, as well as
infections of the eyes, ears, nose, and throat.
