COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - May 20, 2020, 5:00 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on May 20, 2020

Testing

  • 139,177 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 2,416 tests*
  • 27.6 percent of those tested were confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 84,026 total tested for antibodies

Tested Positive for COVID-19

  • 38,411 total
  • 84 new cases

Tested Positive for Antibodies

  • 10,790 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies

Hospitalization,* May 19

  • 453 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 37
  • 129 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 29
  • 22 new admissions
  • 53 discharged
  • 4,650 total discharged since March 22

Fatalities

  • 19 new fatalities
  • 1,791 total fatalities

Hospital Beds, May 19

  • 2,937 total hospital beds; 886 available*
  • 547 ICU beds; 192 available*
