COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - July 19, 2020, 5:30 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on July 19, 2020. Last updated July 18, 2020

Total Persons Tested

  • 413,355 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 2,755 tests
  • 10.3 percent of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 0.9 percent of those tested on Long Island in the last reported 24-hour period tested positive for COVID-19

Tested Positive for COVID-19

  • 42,466 total cases
  • 26 new cases

Antibody Testing

  • 205,048 total tested for antibodies
  • 22,139 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies

Fatalities

  • 1 new fatality
  • 1,994 total fatalities

Hospitalization, numbers from July 17, updated July 18 at 4:30 p.m.

  • 58 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 3
  • 14 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 3
  • 9 new admissions
  • 10 discharged
  • 5,533 discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity

  • 3023 hospital beds, 891 available, 29 percent
  • 395 ICU beds, 130 available, 33 percent

NY Forward Statewide Guidelines

Beginning on June 25, persons traveling to New York, New Jersey or Connecticut from any state that has an infection rate above 10 per 100,000 on the seven-day rolling average or 10 percent of the total population positive on a seven-day rolling average are  required to quarantine for 14-days. As of today, the states that are above that level include:

  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Iowa
  • Idaho
  • Kansas
  • Louisiana
  • Minnesota
