COVID-19 CASE UPDATE - July 20, 2020, 4:30 p.m.

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on July 20, 2020. Last updated July 19, 2020

Total Persons Tested

  • 417,590 COVID-19 tests have been administered, an addition of 4,235 tests
  • 10.2 percent of those tested since March have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 1 percent of those tested on Long Island in the last reported 24-hour period tested positive for COVID-19

Tested Positive for COVID-19

  • 42,496 total cases
  • 30 new cases

Antibody Testing

  • 206,185 total tested for antibodies
  • 22,246 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies

Fatalities

  • 0 new fatalities
  • 1,994 total fatalities

Hospitalization, numbers from July 19, updated July 20 at 4:30 p.m.

  • 47 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 11
  • 15 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increase of 1
  • 4 new admissions
  • 16 discharged
  • 5,549 discharged since March 22

Hospital Capacity

  • 3018 hospital beds, 885 available, 29 percent
  • 395 ICU beds, 155 available, 39 percent

NY Forward Statewide Guidelines

Beginning on June 25, persons traveling to New York, New Jersey or Connecticut from any state that has an infection rate above 10 per 100,000 on the seven-day rolling average or 10 percent of the total population positive on a seven-day rolling average are  required to quarantine for 14-days. As of today, the states that are above that level include:
