Covid-19 Case Update May 6, 2021 4:30pm

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on May 6, 2021. Last updated May 5, 2021

COVID-19 Vaccine Information - As of May 6, 2021  

  •         722,397  people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 4,272
  •         48.8% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  •         60.9% of the population ages 18+ has received at least one dose  
  •         553,789 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 7,247
  •         37.3% percent of the total population of 1,481,093 have completed their vaccine series

  •         757,005 was the weekly allocation of COVID-19 vaccine first doses fully delivered to New York providers during the week 4/26-5/2

 

Walk-in vaccination clinics are offering vaccine to residents who are age 16+. No appointment is needed. Medical practitioners and EMS are on-site at all times to answer questions and tend to concerns. Click here for locations and times. COVID-19 Viral Testing- On May 5, 2021

  • 13,182 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 3,890,040 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 160 new cases were reported
  • 198,183  total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 5.1% of those tested since March 2021 have been confirmed positive for COVID-19
  • 1.2% tested positive in Suffolk County yesterday; 1.7% positive on a 7-day average
  • 1.2% tested positive on Long Island yesterday; 1.6% positive on a 7-day average

Antibody Testing Suffolk County

  • 51,972 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies
  • 370,081 total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  •          0 fatalities
  • 3,362 total fatalities

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data is from May 5, 2021

  • 162 individuals were hospitalized, a decrease of 5 in 24 hours
  • 16 were new admissions
  • 46 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), an increase of 2 in 24 hours
  • 26 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 21 were discharged since the last report
  • 14,243 have been discharged since March 22,2020

 

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,124 hospital beds, 772 available, 25%
  • 422 ICU beds, 137 available, 32%
