Community Mental Hygiene Advisory Board Subcommittee Meetings Canceled

Taking into consideration the continuing efforts being made to recover from Hurricane Sandy and the additional problems brought about by the gas shortage, it has been decided that it is advisable to cancel the following meetings:

 

Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities Subcommittee – Wednesday, November 7th

Mental Health Subcommittee – Wednesday, November 7th

Alcohol and Substance Abuse Subcommittee Meeting – Thursday, November 8th

Suffolk County Update 7:00 PM

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services – working closely with the Suffolk County Department of Public Works, the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army – is in the process of consolidating shelters put in place across the county over the last week.

Suffolk County Update 4:30 PM

New information includes nine additional warming centers; and info on Touro Law Pro Bono Storm Help Center.

Suffolk County Update 8:15 P.M.

Newest information includes: additional warming centers and overnight shelters; extension of temporary assistance and SNAP (food stamps); additional small business assistance center opened at Babylon Town Hall; SC Department of Health information on preventing house fires; FEMA application status.

Suffolk County Update 4:15 P.M.

This updates information and advisories relating to the aftermath of Sandy.
