MEETING OF SUFFOLK COUNTY PESTICIDE COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE

The Pesticide Advisory Committee was established through Local Law 34-1999, which was enacted for the purpose of phasing out the use of pesticides by the County for many pest control purposes.

Vector Control

Weather permitting; the Suffolk County Department of Public Works is planning to treat sections of the following communities as part of their ongoing annual efforts to control adult mosquitoes.

Vector Control

The Suffolk County Department of Public Works’ Division of Vector Control plans to treat parts of the following salt marshes by helicopter to control mosquito larvae.  Should weather conditions prevent completion of the work, it will be continued the next suitable day.

Calling it a significant victory for Long Island’s diverse workforce, Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone applauded Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. (NYSE:BR) for their decision to renew leases for two production facilities in Edgewood and Brentwood, making a long-term commitment to remain in Suffolk County. 

Suffolk County Tick and Vector-Borne Diseases Task Force

As stated in County Resolution 689, The Suffolk County Tick and Vector-Borne Diseases Task

Force was created to study the spread of tick and vector-borne related diseases and to develop a comprehensive needs assessment.
