COVID-19 Case Update - November 17, 2021

Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on November 17, 2021. Last updated November 16, 2021

COVID-19 Vaccine Information

  • 1,108,021 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 491
  • 1,000,424 people have completed their vaccine series, an increase of 731
  • 74.8% of the total population of 1,481,093 has received at least one dose
  • 88.4% of the population ages 18+ has received at least one dose
  • 67.5% percent of the total population has completed the vaccine series
  • 81. 3% of the population ages 18+ has completed the vaccine series.
  • 79.0% of the population ages 12+ has completed the vaccine series.

  • Vaccination rates by zip code
  • Walk-in vaccination clinics are offering vaccine to Suffolk County residents who are age 5 and older. No appointment is needed. Medical practitioners and EMS are on-site at all times to answer questions and tend to concerns. Click here for locations and times and parental consent forms. Answers to your vaccine questions can be found on this page, as well.
  • If you are confined to your home and wish to receive your COVID-19 vaccination, call 311. We will take your name and you will be called to schedule your free vaccination at home.

COVID-19 Case Tracker- On November 16, 2021

  • 11,032 COVID-19 tests were administered
  • 5,739,429 total tests have been administered since March 2020
  • 432 new cases were reported
  • 29.2 cases per 100k; 26.4 on a 7-day average
  • 248,244 total cases have been reported since March 2020
  • 3.9% tested positive in Suffolk County; 3.9% positive on a 7-day average
  • 3.9% tested positive on Long Island; 3.6% positive on a 7-day average

  • COVID Antibodies: 95,188 individuals not previously tested for COVID-19 have tested positive for antibodies; 422,914  total were tested for antibodies

Fatalities, Suffolk County

  • 2 fatalities
  • 3,662 total fatalities since March 2020

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, data is from November 16, 2021

  • 130 individuals were hospitalized, an increase of 12  in 24 hours
  • 25  were new admissions
  • 24 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU),  a decrease of 1 in 24 hours
  • 16 patients were in the ICU and intubated
  • 13  were discharged since the last report
  • 17,202  have been discharged since March 22, 2020

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

  • 3,101 hospital beds, 631 available, 20%
  • 397 ICU beds, 107 available, 27%
