The mission of the division of Community Mental Hygiene Services is to enable persons with mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse and their families to access an appropriate array of services and supports to maximize an individual’s potential within the family and community.

December 1, 2013, marks the 25^th annual observance of World AIDS Day. The Suffolk County Department of Health Services and its community partners encourage residents to do what they can next week to stop the spread of HIV, whether it is by getting tested, participating in outreach and educational events or donating to help find a cure.
