Suffolk County Health Updates 7 p.m.

Information Regarding Public Health and Environmental Concerns of Areas Flooded by Recent Weather Event

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services (SCDHS) has received reports of fuel spills and potential sewage releases in areas which continue to be affected by standing floodwater, including Lindenhurst, Mastic and several other low-lying areas of the County which have been flooded by Hurricane Sandy.

All residents of Suffolk County residing in flood prone neighborhoods, or areas, that have experienced flooding as a result of coastal storms, tidal flooding, freshwater, or drainage issues from previous storms or runoff should consider alternative arrangements and avoid remaining in these areas
