CORRIDOR STUDY OF COUNTY ROAD 39

Planning & Analysis

A comprehensive planning, traffic operations, transit, and land-use study will be performed for the Existing and Future Conditions to determine the roadway concept(s) that best addresses the CR 39 Corridor and surrounding corridors’ issues and constraints.

To provide detailed evaluation of proposed improvement concepts, a series of traffic models, vehicle origin-destination analysis, and land-use studies will be performed to determine the traffic operations benefits to a wide variety of potential improvements.

Traffic models include:
Vissim Microsimulation Software – state-of-the-practice highly detailed network of NY 27 (Sunrise Hwy)/CR 39 and CR 80, Montauk Highway which will provide expected travel times, queues, and animations of prospective improvements

Synchro Intersection Analysis Software – Industry-standard signal timing optimization and intersection analysis software, typically used to provide average vehicle delays and Level of Service (LOS)

New York Best Practice Model (NYBPM) – New York Metro Regional Travel Demand Model, which will be used to understand how traffic volumes and patterns would shift with proposed additional roadway capacity on CR 39 or other bypass/detour routes.
