Information for Parades and Processions Planned to be held on County Roads

Parades, processions, assemblages, fairs or block parties require that the Town Board / Village of the respective Township / Village shall license, regulate or prohibit same.

Although this office does not issue permits for the closing of a County maintained road in order to accommodate parades or the like, the County Department of Public Works has no objections to such requests. However, the Town Board / Village must approve the request, adequate detours are to be defined and signed and the Police Department and local Fire Department are to be notified in advance and have no objections. Please refer to the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law, Article 41, Section 1660 for "Traffic Regulations.
