The Buildings Design and Construction and Facilities Engineering divisions work closely together on Capital Construction Programs for both new construction and retrofitting of existing County facilities. The architects, engineers, and support staff in these divisions provide significant decision support and analytics, serving as building system and energy subject matter experts for all County departments.
Building Design and Construction
Provides architectural design, space management, issuance of building permits and certificates of occupancy, and inspections during construction for all County-owned buildings and facilities.
Facilities Engineering
Responsible for the evaluation and implementation of conventional and alternative energy projects (including photovoltaic, wind, and compressed natural gas).
