- Per NYS Highway law § 136 All projects that have access or frontage proposing to make modifications within the County Right of Way (ROW) require a Highway Work Permit.
- For Utility connections to a property, a Non -Utility Highway Work Permit (“Access Permit”) must be issued to and executed by the property owner prior to a Utility Highway Work Permit being issued for connection to said property. The “Access Permit” number must be produced by the property owner and provided by the Utility Company on the “Utility Highway Work Permit Application.” Failure to produce the “Access Permit” number may result in delay or denial of the application.
- Permit Fees: As per Suffolk County Law, a utility Permit fee will be required.
- Insurance: General Liability and Workers Compensation and Disability Insurance is required for all Permits, reference our General Conditions included in our Permit application package for more information.
- All proposed work must meet the requirements of Suffolk County and the latest NYSDOT specifications and standards.
