One Mosquito Sample Tests Positive for West Nile Virus

Suffolk County Health Commissioner Dr. James L. Tomarken announced today that one mosquito sample, a Culex pipiens-restuans collected on September 27, 2016, from Lindenhurst, has tested positive for West Nile virus.

First Human Cases of West Nile Virus this Year

Suffolk County Commissioner of Health Services Dr. James Tomarken reported today three human cases of West Nile virus in Suffolk County this year.  These are the first human cases to be reported this year in Suffolk County.
