Ground Treatment for Mosquitoes Scheduled

If weather permits, the Suffolk County Department of Public Works will treat sections of Fire Island, Oak Beach and Captree Island as part of its ongoing effort to control adult mosquitoes.

Bay Shore and Strongs Neck Beaches Closed to Bathing

Lake Ronkonkoma Beach remains closed

Benjamin Beach in Bay Shore and Grantland Beach in Strongs Neck are closed to swimming due to the finding of bacterial levels in excess of acceptable criteria. Lake Ronkonkoma Beach, in the Town of Islip, which closed to bathing on Thursday, July 14, 2016, remains closed.

Ozone Health Advisory For Saturday July 16, 2016

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an ozone health advisory for the Long Island region.

Patient Protection Oversight Committee

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services’ Patient Protection Oversight Committee will be discussing The Consumer Assistance Program for the Aged, Blind and Disabled (ABD), at its next meeting in July.
