Due to the heavy rainfall that occurred overnight, the Suffolk County Department of Health Services has issued an advisory against bathing at 25 beaches. The advisory is based on the potential for the presence of bacteria at levels that exceed New York State standards.
If weather permits, the Suffolk County Department of Public Works will treat sections of communities as part of its ongoing effort to control adult mosquitoes.
If weather permits, the Suffolk County Department of Public Works will treat sections of the Oak Beach and Fire Island in an effort to control adult mosquitoes.
If weather permits, the Suffolk County Department of Public Works will treat sections of South Shirley, Mastic Beach, Old Mastic, and Fire Island in its ongoing effort to control adult mosquitoes.
