Board of Review Hearing

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services’ Division of Environmental Quality will hold its regular monthly Board of Review hearing on, Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the conference room at 360 Yaphank Ave., Suite 2C, Yaphank, NY 11980.

Update on New Tobacco Law

January 2, 2015

New 2015 Tobacco 21  signs are available at county office located at 725 Veterans Highway, Smithtown, NY 11787, Building C928. Vendors may call 631-853-3162 for more information.

The class that is scheduled to begin on January 5, 2015, at the Babylon Library has been postponed and is now scheduled to begin on January 26, 2015. The new schedule is as follows:

Babylon Public Library, 24 South Carll Ave., Babylon
Mondays, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., January 26; February 2, 9, 23; March 2, 9, and April 6, 2015.

Suffolk County Law Limiting Tobacco Sales to Persons over Age 21 Takes Effect

Commissioner of Health Services James Tomarken, MD, MPH, reminds vendors and residents that as of January 1, 2015, it is illegal to sell tobacco, e-cigarettes, and liquid nicotine in Suffolk County to persons under the age of 21. Prior to January 1, it had been illegal to sell these products to persons under the age of 19.
