COVID-19 Related Items

As of September 12, 2023, the Suffolk County Department of Health Services is authorized to offer updated COVID-19 vaccines to only those Suffolk County residents who are uninsured or underinsured through the Vaccines for Children and Vaccines for Adults program.

CDC recommends the 2023–2024 updated COVID-19 vaccines.

Residents who have insurance that covers the COVID-19 vaccine are encouraged to receive their vaccines at their local pharmacies, health care providers offices, or local federally qualified health centers. You can locate a convenient vaccination site using the vaccine finder tool: https://www.vaccines.gov/search/

Residents who meet the qualifications to receive a vaccination at one of Suffolk County vaccination clinics may walk in to any of our clinics listed here to receive a vaccine.

Alcohol and Substance Abuse Subcommittee of the Community Mental Hygiene Advisory Board

Suffolk Health Officials Observe National Eating Disorder Awareness Week

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services’ Division of Preventive Medicine, in its continuing efforts to promote good health practices among the population, asks residents to recognize the signs of eating disorders. According to the National Eating Disorder Association, as many as ten million females and one million males in the U.S. are battling eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia. Approximately 25 million more are struggling with binge eating. Millions practice disordered eating due to an obsession with dieting.
