Health News

East End Health Centers Community Advisory Board Meeting

The purpose of the Advisory Board is to advise the Commissioner of Health Services, through the Division of Patient Care Services Administration, on matters relating to the operation of the health center. 

Mosquito Spraying

Weather permitting, the Suffolk County Department of Public Works will treat sections of the following communities as part of its ongoing annual effort to control the mosquito population.

Advisory Against Bathing at 19 Suffolk County Beaches

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services has issued an advisory against bathing at 19 beaches, including beaches located along the northern shoreline of Great South Bay and in Sag Harbor, (list attached).

Lake Ronkonkoma Beach Open

The beach closure issued for Lake Ronkonkoma Beach in the Town of Islip has been lifted, as results of recent samples collected show the water quality to be within acceptable levels.

Community Mental Hygiene Services Advisory Board Meeting

The Community Mental Hygiene Services Advisory Board is made up of consumers, parents, advocates, professionals and agency providers who advise the Director of Community Mental Hygiene Services on issues facing the community. The board comprises three subcommittees: Mental Health, Intellectual & Developmental Disabilities*, and Alcohol & Substance Abuse. Meetings are open to the public.  Guests are asked to call in advance.
