2025 Lease Application Cycle: Application Period

New Lease Acreage Available: 60 acres (Six 10-acre lease sites)
Acreage for 2nd Lease Site Applications Available: 30 acres (Three 10-acre lease sites)

Starting on January 6, 2024, the County will start accepting pre-application meeting appointments. Applicants must schedule and attend a pre-application meeting with Dept. staff prior to submitting any application. Please call Mr. Thomas Ralicky at telephone 631-853-4865 to schedule a pre-application meeting. All pre-application meetings may be scheduled for either 10:00am or 2:00pm Monday through Friday (dependent on staff availability).

Applications will not be accepted without first participating in a pre-application meeting.

During the 2025 Lease Application Cycle Application Period, the Suffolk County Aquaculture Lease Program will also schedule pre-application meetings and accept applications for:

• Lease Site Relocation
• Lease Assignment
• Second Lease Site

All applications must be postmarked by February 14, 2025.

Public Notice & Request for Written Comments on Applications for Shellfish Aquaculture Lease Renewal and Lease Assignment

Pursuant to Local Law 09-2021 A Local Law to Amend Update and Reorganize Chapter 475 Article II of the Suffolk County Code, notice is hereby given that the Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning has received two (02) applications by existing leaseholder’s requesting to renew their lease agreement for an additional ten (10) years. Additionally, one (01) application has been received requesting the assignment of a lease from one entity (Assignor) to another entity (Assignee). No new lease locations are proposed for leasing as part of this public notice.

Comments regarding the applications must be mailed to the Suffolk County Department of Economic Development and Planning at the address below:
