Additional 15 Mosquito Samples Test Positive for West Nile Virus

Suffolk County Health Commissioner Dr. James L. Tomarken announced today that 15 mosquito samples (all Culex pipiens-restuans) collected between August 22 and August 28, 2016, have tested positive for West Nile virus.

Huntington Beach Community Association Beach Closed to Bathing

Huntington Beach Community Association Beach in Huntington is closed to bathing due to the finding of bacteria at levels that are in excess of acceptable criteria. Five additional beaches remain closed due to unacceptable levels of bacteria
