As stated in County Resolution 689, The Suffolk County Tick and Vector-Borne Diseases Task
Force was created to study the spread of tick and vector-borne related diseases and to develop a comprehensive needs assessment.
A beach closure was issued today for Southold Town Beach in Southold and Bay Hill Property Owners Association Beach in Huntington due to elevated bacterial numbers. West Meadow Beach in Stony Brook and Tanner Park Beach in Copiague are reopened, as results of recent samples collected show the water quality to be within acceptable levels.
Weather permitting; the Suffolk County Department of Public Works is planning to treat sections of the following communities as part of their ongoing annual efforts to control adult mosquitoes.
