Suffolk County Super Storm Sandy Update November 27, 2012

For those displaced by Super Storm Sandy, Suffolk County has established temporary emergency shelter accommodations in cooperation with New York Institute of Technology.

Sixth Human Case of West Nile Virus

Great River, NY – Suffolk County Commissioner of Health Services James L. Tomarken confirmed today a sixth human case of West Nile virus in Suffolk County this year.  The individual, who is over 50 years of age, resides in Brookhaven.  The patient was ill at the end of August, but was never hospitalized, and has fully recovered.
